Question About "white Injectors" From A '98 T5

i have a '97 850R and i will most likely be going with the IPD flashed ecu.

i pulled a fuel injector rail w/ the 5 white injectors off a '98 S70 T5 yesterday. is there any real advantage of using this in my '97 R, which currently has the stock orange injectors???

if so, do i need to use the '98 T5 injector rail and fuel presure regulator, or can i just put the injectors in my '97R fuel rail and use the FPR that my '97R came with? is there anything specific about the '98 T5 fuel rail? the FPR on my '97R seems to be in a different location as the one on the '98 T5 rail.

if i add these white injectors will there really be a performance benefit? will i throw a code even with the IPD flashed ecu?

thanks for any help you all can give.

btw, the white injectors were part number#1270534

They are higher flowing and a direct replacement for your stock injectors. As others have mentioned, be sure to let IPD know you have them, and ensure that they will give you a tune made for that size of injector (350cc/min). If they do not have a tune for them, then sell em on here...

IPD told me they dont "custom tune" their flashed ecu's. anyone heard otherwise?

pop the injectors out of the 98 rail, put them into your 97 rail, and call it a day......

you will be fine with the generic IPD tune and the white injectors in there. If anything, it will give you a little more room to crank up the boost with an MBC or something of the sort.

and this wont throw a code or check engine light????

With the green injectors, you throw a "Too lean on bank 1 and 2" code, only because the duty cycles and the MAF signals are so far out of whack from what the computer expects to be delivering. I don't know if the whites are big enough to get this code (probably not).
