Che'_Moderator
lol, why would you need that much HP on a mazda. He won't. So I guess its a good thing it will never make that much power. The good news is its not like he has a warranty to worry about.
UnknownSoldier
You always wanted to build the Mazda engine, so do it. You can always get the Volvo later. So true, do up the mazda, it's a nice car(Not my style, dad has a 3), pretty new, get the volvo in a couple of years.Good luck. The Stig
Why would you want 500+ HP on a FWD car? With a turbo large enough to accommodate that, the on/off boost characteristics will have you either crawling along or spinning your wheels. Seriously, it makes little sense. FWD is a fundamentally flawed platform, and every Volvo driver knows that. If you're aiming for that power, go buy an Evo, modify that, and call it a day. ErikS
I vote for a taxi cab. From listening to the way you drive on the street you are either going to total whatever car you have or get your licence suspended for wreckless driving. ;)

gmsgltr
I voted Volvo but like most here... I'm biased. My biggest thing is having something unique. The white 850R would be much more unique, but cost more to upgrade, as well as maintain. I would go with an 850R over a speed3 if I had the chioce, but what Im saying now is almost redundant because I have never driven the Speed3. Also which would pick up more chicks? Che'_Moderator
I do, actually. Which part do you take issue with?Lets start with sentence one. Lots of 500hp cars out there with FWD and no more traction issues than a RWD.
Zaitz
Wouldn't staging the boost to ease in per rpm coupled with LSD reduce wheel spin drastically?
The Stig
Lets start with sentence one. Lots of 500hp cars out there with FWD and no more traction issues than a RWD.I think Zoomster was referring to 500 WHP for his Mazdaspeed3. And I find it hard to believe a daily driver FWD car pumping out 500 WHP and running 225 street tires will have the "no more" traction issues from the line than a RWD car of similar ilk. Weight transfer alone should dictate that.
TM850R
Get the Volvo. I may be a bit biased on that one though. ;)
