jonsayre
does anyone know if that 130 degree bend, shown above, could be used to make a dp for a straight flange 16t? in other words is the angle correct? If cut at the correct angle it would work just fine! You could weld it to your stock downpipe flange as well. But there is also one more bend involved directly after the flex section and I am not sure if there would be enough bend left in that one piece to get the degree you would need. FINN
$175 to just replace the stock muffler with a magnaflow seems pretty damned high to me.
jazzyjeff
well i had the stock muffler cut off and a magnaflow fitted into its place (straight thru flow) w/ custom bends made to join it to the stock piping (this guy is an artist, he let me watch him do it) its a oval shaped magnaflow, i will post up the part number.nice sound, not too loud at all, quieter than i expected but if you get on it it has a nice mellow note. next item is to get rid of that restrictive bend in the downpipe..do you know what model magnaflow it is? How loud is it at idle? Or when you floor it?
jordanvw
do you know what model magnaflow it is? How loud is it at idle? Or when you floor it?magnaflow part # 11216 straight thru flow, oval design.he cut the stock muffler off, and put the magnaflow in its place. he custom bent piping to match up the stock piping to the magnaflow. the $175 included the magnaflow, plus parts and labor welding on brackets and such. i thought it was a good deal and fair price. i didnt want a rear muffler because i plan on installing a trailer hitch and i didnt know if it would get in the way. the magnaflow has a nice mellow note, its not loud at all during idle. it gets alittle louder when you floor it, but its not bad. i took my dad out for dinner and he didnt even notice the difference. jonsayre
I think 175$ is very reasonable considering the muffler was part of the price.
