Cal3thousand
So during a PnP replacement, while removing the tranny dipstick tube, my dumba$$ didn't think to take the dipstick out of the tube first NOW, the end (tip) of the dipstick broke off in the pan. 1) Will anything happen to it if I drive it? 2) I'm doing a flush tomorrow, will I be able to get it out of the drain? (I estimate the piece to be about an 1 to 1.5 inches)
tca217
Not sure if this would work but I'm just throwing it out there. If you have one of those pencil sized telescoping mechanics magnet you might be able to put it down in the hole and get lucky and grab the broken piece. I'm not sure if it will fit, but it is just an idea. Good luck.

crazykn
It wouldn't hurt to drop the pan to get it out. The pan could also use a good cleaning, especially cleaning the pan magnet. It might be possible to drain the fluid and watch it come out. Not sure if it will come out. Flushing it out won't work (through the cooler lines). bum2kev
i would jack up the car on the drivers side and pull the tranny drain bolt out. since the car is tilting more fluid will come out faster, maybe stick your finger in there and see if you can feel it trying to come out. Ihatespeedbumps
I agree with the others, I think dropping the pan is your best idea.I wouldn't risk driving it with something floating around in there.
r850glt
Dropping the pan is the best way to get it out. Remember to get sealant gasket t5o put it back togeother.
