scout01
What is up!!!! Hey can a transmission whistle when driving. I have mentioned this earlier, but found out that it is not the turbo. Could it be a vaccum leak? Sound is coming from the front of the engine. If anybody can help that would be great.

loseR99
The turbo would be the only thing whistling under the hood.

Not sure what the sound is that you are hearing but I understand that the crank case vent can start whistle when they get clogged.
Jax sarondani
Sounds weird, but make sure it is not your front wheel bearing. I thought, for sure, I had a tranny problem, but it turned out to be a front bearing. Try gettting your car up to the speed where the noise is loudest, and then, put it in neutral, if the noise is still present (likely it will be), then it is probably not you tranny. Does it whistle only while driving or at idle as well?
