gdizzle
Me neither. Even consider myself being younger than my son.. Until the next physical clue telling me otherwise. About that T-5R.. As it appears B5204T pistons OS .04 are no longer available. Custom made is about double the Volvo price and I'm hesitant to go that route. Thinking about dropping B5234T internals in this engine.. Why couldn't you just drop b5234T internals in? I can't think of any reason.

Johann
Company in the neighbourhood has an ultrasonic cleaning machine. A big one which could fit a 12 cylinder block. Decided to give it a try with two of the dirtiest parts. Unfortunately no pictures from before the cleaning but the result is amazing, Second image is PS'd a bit to remove an overexposed part at the bottom of the image. 3
kampman
Wow-where can I get one of those cleaners? Good on you for saving that T5R.
Johann
Took the subframe out and pressure washed the frame. Back in the car, In the mean time cleaning all the small bits, Some just cleaned with degreaser, others glass blasted.
Johann
Minor update, One day before vacation I received the machined engine parts, A B5204FT block bored to 81.5 mm, a B5234T5 block bored to 81.4 mm and a partially overhauled B5204FT head. Head was resurfaced, received new seals and the valves were reseated. OEM OS 0.4 pistons, Glyco bearings, And most of the needed parts were in, Next there was a 2 week interruption. Drove 2K miles with the XC60 to the South of France and Paris. Arrived back home last Saturday. Like mentioned I decided to use the B5234T5 block because of the 2.0 pistons delivery issues. Engine is mostly finished by now, Currently cleaning up a 15G turbo I received from a friend. ECU will be flashed to stock T-5 or T-5R bin. Johann
Replace the gearbox seals. Opened the box to get the seals out. Everything appeared to be in good working order. Installed an 850R clutch kit and new TO bearing. Gearbox mounted to the engine, A friend donated a 15G turbo btw. And back in the car,
