ChuckV986
I'll watch it. If it's anything like like Ferenheight 9/11 it'll be amusing at worst. They might even have some solid points in it. Moore certainly did, though a lot of it was scewed beyond all reason and I'd bet the same will be true here. Some Right-wing Repub. film makers should get out there and make another documentary. I don't really care for one-sided arguments.
Chris_R
It seems that people always forget that this war was justified by the fact that they (Iraq/Saddam) refused to let UN (not US) weapons inspectors thoroughly search as was agreed to by Iraq when they joined the UN. There never needed to be any WMD. The fact that the inspectors were refused access was reason enough. Again, this is the UN's policy, not US policy. The quotes could go on for hours."Saddam could have nuclear capability within 9 months." - Powell"We know where the WMD's are, they're around Tikrit, here to the north, and south, and east and west." - Rumsfeld"We conservatively estimate their stockpile of biological agents at 400-500 tons."- Powell"Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction."Dick CheneySpeech to VFW National ConventionAugust 26, 2002"Right now, Iraq is expanding and improving facilities that were used for the production of biological weapons." We're just getting it just now."Colin PowellRemarks to ReportersMay 4, 2003"For bureaucratic reasons, we settled on one issue, weapons of mass destruction (as justification for invading Iraq) because it was the one reason everyone could agree on."Paul WolfowitzVanity Fair interviewMay 28, 2003So after we learn that none of this is true, it is still OK to kill 1012 american soldiers and nearly 25,000 Iraqis because Saddam wouldn't allow an inspection?! That is INSANE.And let's get a little more specific here. That was NOT the UN's policy. The UN resolution called for serious consequences. The US read that to mean genocide was OK. The rest of the world and most definitely the UN, did not think that was the policy. So off we go WITHOUT UN approval, let's not forget that.bwahahahahahaha. this entire issue makes me laugh. it is so ridiculous that it is even true. patrick
its amazing how completely liberal my generation is, just wait til we are fully in office, problems will be solved :-) i dont think i know more than 5 people my age that are republicans. i share some views w/ them, but only about 5% of their wants/arguments. and people like gee-dub make me embarassed to do so. i dont see whats so difficult to understand about the iraqi situation, it was not completely illogical imo, but definately executed for the wrong reasons. Che'_Moderator
I am only going to say this once so listen well :monkey:sAnyone who thinks Iraq did not have WMD probably also believes we don't know that the explosion in NK was, or that the Chinese embassy we bombed was an accident.Your government lies to you!!!!This is not news. They lie cause a lot of you "can't handle the truth". The average American is not the brightest bulb. I'd like to solve the puzzle Pat. If you honestly think you know what’s going on, than you have no idea.
