theForgottenone
+1. Over here, a 250k-300k house will have you living luxurious. But, that's because the population is just over 200k peeps.Canada don't count $200K barely get you a townhouse in Portland(approx 1500sqft). A decent house with 3-4 bedrooms ~2000sq ft starting at 300K.I'll wait for another 3 years then buy a different house. Too freaking windy where I live. TBM
Canada don't count Actually, no. Those are the prices where I live, but in the Toronto area, the house prices are easily doubled.
TM850R
The housing market has slowed down from the insane jump it had a few years ago but houses are still selling. That market always goes up and down. Give it a few years, it will go back up.

HtownTurboBrick
Eh tx market pwns j00 all. 1 million house here is 10 million else where. 350k is upper class luxury homes. My buddy's custom built house appraised 300k when first built 6 bed room 5000 sq. ft., its just over 500k now and they've had offers for 600k. my ex gf lives in a older neighborhood with some sort of neighborhood renaissance there. Brand new 1mil remodels next door to, i promise you, government project low income housing style houses with maybe 1500-2000 sq ft. getting 500k bids. I bought my house last year 4 bed rm 2200 sq. ft. for 113k. All the property in that area is bought up too, i haven't seen a house for sale in 6 months.Although i am waiting to see some foreclosures to pick up dirt cheap to hold on to for a while. J0E
That is one seriously tacky house, it doesn't surprise me that Joe lives next to it. Hah! I could almost see what you mean. The home was built to be completely visible from the street, so that's the only think tacky to me. There is absolutely no privacy for the front or north/south ends of the property, whereas mine is hardly visible. :)

If you don't think the interior of that house is tacky, then I'm starting to worry about you..
