Help! The Brick Won't Start...

I have a '98 V70 AWD. This afternoon, I was trying to install a 50W HID kit. I unplugged the positive (+) side of the battery like the instructions said and went on. I forgot that the low-beans were on the outside so I installed (successfully) the lights on the hi-beams. It got dark so I unplugged it hoping to finish in the lit garage after dinner. I reconnected the + battery cable to the car. I went to move the car into the garage and it turned over, but very slowly and it wouldn't start. I tried jumping it and now it does not even turn over. What is wrong with my car? Fuse? Starter motor?

It is always a good idea to check the fuses when you have played with the electrical system. Hopefully you didnt sit there and try to crank the car over for too long. That will burn out the starter. If you did, you may be looking to replace your starter instead of just a battery.

Make sure they all good and tight in their positions

so the starter motor doesnt work at all?? does it click?? might sound stupid but put your key in the drivers door, lock then unlock to ensure the immobilizer isnt armed which will cut power to the exciter wire to the starter.

Also, go ahead and clean the terminals and cable ends with a wire brush. Make em nice and shiny and try again. Just because your interior lights come on doesn't mean you are getting enough juice to the starter motor.

If after you jump it it still doesnt have enough juice to turn it over maybe the cable to the starter is loose? ground wire came undone? sounds like a connection to me.. or your batterie is dead dead. Good-luck

Fuses: make sure they are not blown. Google blown fuse for a picture.

Nevermind, I did for you:

The fuses are similar to these. There is a little curvy piece of metal instead of a straight bar across.

The fuses are tight, tomorrow I will check them for breaks. I assume the starter motor fuse, correct? Also, the starter clicks once right when I move the key to 3rd position and I hear a brief whirring, if that helps any...
