EricF
Funny. Was just saying in AIM how 850s are like squeaky/creaky/rattly railroad cars (mine has IPD sways though, which is about the worst ride modification. Also 215/40/17 tires.) I think nice new rubber bushings in key locations has a big effect on making things nicer. The older ones don't absorb as much shock anymore. Your setup should be about as good as 850s get if you have decent bushings. I don't think an 850 will ever ride "nicely" though compared to other cars it was supposedly intended to compete with. rynodyno312
Man, coming from my rattletrap rubbermaid Z28, the volvo is like a Rolls. With the Z, if you didnt have to pee when you left, you sure as hell did when you got there!
JHEIII874T5M
Yeah... my 850 tended to ride a bit rough and my S70 does the same thing... but it's to be expected with the modifications done to both.
rsleepr88
Ride in an S80, your mind will change about how Volvo's ride, it's smooth as butter.lol...u can have all the s80's!!
FINN
retired my 220k mile shocks/struts...lol.... Stock or modified, every 850 I've been in rides very firm and lets you know every pebble you run over.
Austin H
If I had my choice my 850 would be stiff, nothing else. If you ride around in my Dad's 911 it feels like you hit bombs everytime you go over a leaf. I want that!

magnum46
i have Koni FSD + Eibach. Good setup but the ride is still harsh. It does rattle a lot too. I just drive faster so I zoom past the bumps .:-)
CO.T5M
i would have to say that owning all different kinds of cars. the 850 would be one that all depends on how you maintain the suspension of the car. i am riding on all new bushings, mounts, seats, with saches struts and shocks matched with TME springs. the ride i think is awesome. its great in the turns and very soft on the highway
Boost_Junky
I have the FSD Koni Eibach and she turns where ever I point the wheel. The painted lines in the road feel like speed bumps though. My car rattles too. I put it in "'N" when I'm at lights so I don't have to listen to my dash and doors symphony. BlackBrick
Yes! And I think the wagon rides even rougher than the sedan! One huge +1 for Volvo though, the seats are the most comfortable I have ever had. When I'm stuck in traffic in my Volvo 850, I just turn up music and lean back in my leather arm chair and relax. B)
