giantrobot9000
I replaced the entire glovebox on my 94 850T because the lock was busted and the previous owner had cut a hole in it.......well, now the replacement has decided to lock shut and I can't get it open with the correct key or anything. 1)What the hell happened?2) How do I get it open without destroying it? Che'_Moderator
Carefully pry it open ~10mm. Tape of the edges to prevent damage. Then take a hacksaw and cut the latch. you will obviously need a new one but problem fixed.

Guest 850T-5
sucks, that happened to me too. What I did was took a small set of bolt cutters that were fairly flat, pried it open at the top, jammed them in and cut the catch clean off. I then replaced it with the revised part that is "supposed" to not do that again, we'll see I guess. if you screw up the door itself, you can always buy another on ebay or swipe one from the JY to install a new lock/latch assembly in or modify it as described. The dealer told me that use cutters and just cut the hinges off but I think the way I did it was best.

I did the home-brew fix by using a small machine screw to replace the pin that breaks off. It should be a fairly permanent fix.
