Seka99
My 99 S70 front end has been creaking at very low speeds especially when turning into a driveway. Because it has 160,000 on it it seemed pretty obvious that it would need new struts. I purchased a set of Bilstein Struts and shocks, and also purchased new spring seats and strut mount bushings. My local mechanic who is also a Volvo enthusiast installed them for me. After the installation and a front end alignment (which is another story in itself) the creak is still there. Any ideas? Only items not replaced are control arms, ball joints, and sway links. But I'm not really a fan of shotgun maintenance and would like to know what the culprit is before changing everything.Vance

I replaced the strut mount bushings twice, then the control arms and tie rods. the culprit ended up being a defective strut bushing, even though it was new. If the bushing isn't seated properly, you can tell by removing mushroom cap and looking at bushing alignment, it will creak and fail prematurely.Hope this helps and good luck. ;)
MrWinkey
Since you got the basics already try some silicone spray on the sway bar to frame bushings
DonutsDemise
that was happening to my driver's side front wheel, turned out to be a bad ball joint in my case...
