red c70
Hey all, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right area so move if you have to. Anyhow, I noticed, since I've had my car that the rubber trim around the rear window is cracking all over the place. I have never had a drop of water thru the interior as of yet. I'm just concerned that water will get into the body and rust it out, (which I haven't seen any of yet). How hard is it to replace this trim?Do I have to get a whole new window? Will I have to remove the tint?Help!Matt
evilb
I have the same problem. The rubber trim seems to be part of a gasket that goes under the edge of the window. I am considering just cleaning up the trim and cutting away any cracked part, then just going all around the rear window with a ton of black RTV silicone or something similar. Best bet would probably be to have it replaced professionally, though it looks like the rear window would have to be removed to do so. As for rusting, I haven't seen any part of my car show even a bit of rust, probably because Volvo galvanized every square inch of these cars.
