I had my local shop order a Benelli Supernova Tactical and it was supposed to show up in a week, and I couldn't find any 2 3/4" low recoil loads of 00 buck or Truball slugs in town, so I ordered them as well. Then I got a call a few days later informing me that the Supernova tacticals are backordered over 90 days, due to popularity. So I went back to the store, held a bunch of 18-20" barreled pumps, and decided I'd get the 870 express with ghost ring sights. They had a Benelli Nova tactical there, but I don't like not being able to adjust drop and comb. I'm sure none of these pansy city boys have a clue what that means.No it's not...again, the majority of the Volvospeed crowd can't tell the difference between paramilitary camo and woodland/turkey camo. I guess since they make all the rules, every person in the military that wears camo is a redneck, or anyone who owns a shotgun is a redneck.Whoever called a 9mm pansy is an idiot. The only complaint I have is I need the Pearce finger extention. I seriously doubt I'll carry the 16-round mag around as it's huge, but the 10-round mag is a bit short for my pinky to sit comfortably at the bottom. The trigger pull is amazing, short and smooth. The sights were dead on at 7 yards. I was very pleased with it.So you go from a benelli supernova to a Remington 870 express? They don't even compare. I have an 870 express, it's a nice gun, but it's not nearly as nice as the supernova. The recoil and the pump actuation is on a entirely different level. Oh, and buy a real knife. Some people take pride in it, while others, like myself, do not. Being a redneck is not being country. And they're worth every penny.Gregg...well, I had a Supernova tactical on gunbroker, but I got outbid at the last minute. While it's a great shotgun, I don't feel like waiting 3-4 months to get one. I don't plan on using a shotgun for anything other than home defense, protection while camping, and rabbit hunting, so an 870 would serve me just fine. I'm sure I could hook up a rifled slug barrel for deer, but that's trying to turn a shotgun into a rifle. Rifled slugs is as far as I'll go with the shotgun, and if I decide to get serious into deer hunting, a .30-06 is in line. I DID consider a Benelli M3 convertible, but I couldn't justify paying $1400+, even if I had the money to spend. I am, of course, going to be mounting a side saddle on the receiver, mag extension if it doesn't come with one already on it, carry strap, and I'll probably need to adjust the drop on it. Standard drop feels awkward to me. Doing that stuff to the Supernova is difficult and expensive as it's a new model and there's not much out for it. Don't get me wrong, if I could get the Supernova with 18" barrel, ghost ring sights, and comfortech stock, I would. The issue is availability, amount of aftermarket and stock parts, and many years of reliability (thanks to its history). I held a Mossberg 590 and it just felt too long and cumbersome. The Benelli Nova didn't feel very good either. I did like the way the 870 felt...plus, I don't need a 3 1/2" chamber. I'm not into hunting turkey.
