Did you get the relay working?so i believe you put into intermittent position, then back to stop, then back to intermittent.maybe try other positions? like the superslow and superfast positionsand '98S70R said to make sure it was inserted all the way into the relayand yesterday the rain was just crazy. even the "superfast" setting wasn't fast enough. might get me the relay if you manage to get it working littledog← Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

kshaw Posted October 9, 2004 Report Share Posted October 9, 2004 I have the IPD relay delay and it works great for me. Since purchasing it, I learned that there's a standard Audi part that does the same thing and is a direct replacement for the Volvo relay. I saw it on a UK Volvo website volvoclub.org.uk and someone posted the part number. Hope they use the same part numbers in the US. Just do a search on that site. I had expected the K.A.E. relay (which I hear doesn't work correctly), and I had cancelled my order - but it had already shipped. I opened the package, and it was the VW part! (I cancelled my cancelled order)They sent the OEM VW part. If you are interested in buying one, you might want to call them on the 1-800 number and verify that they will sent the VW part - and NOT the K.A.E. part advertised on their website. I'm very pleased, and I saved $40.00. IPD wants $68.00 for the exact same part - with the IPD logo on the relay. I could care less about the logo. It's not worth $40.00 more. My VW relay(s) are installed on both our 2000 XC's. I'm sure it will work on 1998-2000 Volvo V/S/C70's. Don't know about other years, however... No hassles or problems or quirks. The K.A.E. works when you spray the windshield - not when you turn on the intermittent setting!
