DelawareT5M
yo guys, my front Volans are almost black. Before I had my CV's replaced, grease shot up onto the inside lining of my wheel well and the entire wheel. I last cleaned my wheels a day before the CV replacel yet they still weren't 100%. Break dust + grease is a mother effer to clean! It took me close to an hour and half to clean them last time using wheel cleaner, a stiff brush and heavy duty rags last time This time i'm pulling out the big guns... do you guys know any chemicals that will restore my wheels to their original color without spending hours scrubbing them?i have a powerwasher but that did little last time. would Goo Gone work? Millertime
Get some Motorex Chain clean or S100 wheel cleaner from a motorcycle dealer. Both eat chain wax and brake dust pretty well, so I would think they would eat grease and brake dust.I've used the S100 on my car with no ill effects, but haven't tried the Motorex on the car yet.I should think it would be safe, since motorcycle wheels are powder coated aluminum. Both require a light scrubbing to help the cleaner penetrate heavy build-up. TM850R
I used Dawn. It got nearly everything off my old wheels. I had the same problem with the CV boots giving way and tossing loads of grease everywhere. My wheels got the brunt of the grease and were never the same. T-5Bandit
try brakleenGood idea! Use brakleen on a painted surface...that way when it eats through the finish on the wheels, he can get them all redone. <_<
