Line To Fuel Filter Leaking...

Alright on sunday I got a new fuel filter and installed it which was pretty easy to do and at the time i thought all was fine. Monday rolls around and i start the car and i notice that its leaking fuel. Sure enough it was the fuel filter i just replaced the day before. The quick release line or w/e the hell it is seems to be slowly letting fuel drip out of it. It's on as much as it should and can be so idk why it would be leaking. It's not an incredibly bad leak like spraying out but slowly dripping out.

Does anyone have anytips for this ? Im considering just using plumbers tape or something this afternoon since the smell of gas is pissing me off so much. Was i supposed to re-tape the line like in the picture ?

I just love how something so easy turned into such a pain.

Its Dripping from the red arrow end of the line.

i would be careful with that... a guy i know tried to replace a fuel filter on a toyota and didn't tighten it down well enough; he turned on the car and fuel sprayed everywhere which wasn't good since the filter is right next to the exhaust. then the car caught fire. i wouldn't just tape that up, i would tighten it down more. you don't want to end up like newman in his mail truck.

yeah but how can i just tighten it up? Its a line that you just push on , theres not like a clamp of anything to tighten it.

How did that guy go about dealing with his problem?

The quick release fitting has an O ring inside which may have been dislodged. All you can do now is remove the fitting, inspect it and put it back on. Make sure there is absolutely no play or dirt in the fitting.
