snookwhaler
Funny about these stupid little screws. Some have them and some dont. My older 850 has regular torx screws. Dads V70 has (had) the security pin type. I have worked on my neighbors newer V70 as well... No security pin in the screw? Weird...Anyway... These pesky things are easily removed with a small pair of needle nose vice grips. Replaced them with phillips head screws.
bdimag
i never bothered trying to remove the sensor - just easy enough to take the tube off...I thought the MAF cleaner can said spray it down every AIR FILTER change?? either way... good to clean..but cleaning doesnt always do the trick - i had to replace mine completely...--and btw, if you go to the K&N website you can watch the videos of them trying to destroy an MAF with their oil... and fail. That's why when you order it, it comes with the WHOLE housing. Ask me how I know
7 VII 7
yikes... looks like I will just stuck with taking the tubing out and leaving the MAF wire/board in.

Basically to the point where it would be very difficult for the air to flow.nah, I will keep doing what I am doingThey oil it for a reason, its the oil that traps the dirt and the cotton just holds the oil. This could be a reason that your IAC is getting all gunked up. And besides, the charger kit cost like $20 for numerous applications. And its fun to do!
bdimag
exactly....the point of the video is not that the MAF works fine covered in oil... thats just stupid.the point of the video is that when applying the correct amount of oil, it will not come off and coat the MAF - it will stay where it should... where it was designed to be.
