red c70
Ok, I'm getting pricing on a whole bunch of stuff. Ok the c70 is at 90k and the work needs done, i'll save money by doing it all at once. Please help me as to what I should pay the dealer/mechanic to do all of this stuff:-Timing belt-Water pump (because of the timing belt)-End links and bushings-Springs/struts-Alignment because of suspension work-Transmission flush-Control armsI'm hoping that the mechanic can do this over the weekend and hopefully he can keep it under $1500.Let me know if i should try for a better price/what would you pay for this?Matt
bdimag
dunno about under 1500... thats a decent list there..a few things though... i just read somewhere here that a guy paid like $300 for a trans flush at dealer (or i could be making stuff up in my head).. but i did mine for the cost of: kit from ipd, small funnel, and case of 12 mobile atf 3309control arms... just did mine myself, was $120 for each control arm kit (which is arms + bolts + nuts + splash shield)timing belt & water pump i was quoted ~$600 from the dealer - have not donesprings and struts probably wont be very cheap.. Scootdiggity
Hello redc70, I live in the dayton ohio area, I would have a mechanic do the timing belt and water pump and do the rest yourself, unless you can find a mechanic with dirt cheap labor rates who you trust to work on your car. Otherwise your not going to be anywhere around the 1500 mark. I mean with the timing belt and the trans flush you are approcahing a 1000. I have replaced shocks and struts and all the other stuff you mention but wont touch timing belts because I dont have the paitence, haha. It is a little harder and cheaper to do things yourself but atleast you know it is done right. Just some advice.

Very simple to do on your own!http://volvospeed.com/Repair/Transflush.php
Guest Guest.3
If you are getting 1500 dollars back from the FED, you're getting too much and uncle is using your money interest free throughout the year. Talk to your tax rep. and ask them to help you plan for 2008 by changing your W4 so you get your money thrughout the year and tell the FED, "No more interest free loans from me".
