Cal3thousand
So after searching and searching, the jury is still deliberating on which are the best value/quality control arms. (OK so we know scan techs are crap). So many different opinions about a few suppliers, so lets try to get this straight. Please make sure to include the following:original miles before replacing: Manufacturer, source, price:who installed them, did they pre-load before torque-ing:How long did they last or how long has it been (time, miles):additional comments: including, but no limited to "who makes the OE parts" (not who you "think" is the OEM)and..... GO!

Cal3thousand
I wouldn't go with anything other than OEM Volvo (Meyle) or TRW. Though some will have varying feedback, I had nothing but problems with both HT and ScanCrap. There was one guy "Swedish Garage" that said Meyle HD's were crap, anyone else with corroborating evidence?:A Piece of Advice as a Swedish & European Car MechanicTo all those who drive their cars everyday, you must change all Front End Parts for the best results.OE , Hamburg Technic or Scantech, none of them will give you 5 years if the Front End is not Fully Tight.2 Very Tight New Control Arms will loosen the older Front End Parts & eventually its own life will get less because of the connection/Circuit of Parts is loose.I will not install a Scantech or Taiwanese Arm with a FAKE VOLVO Logo from Karlyn/STI. Will only install OE or the Hamburg Technic arm, which are as good as they are both Made in Germany at the same Factory.Febi is also a good Brand but even more expensive than OE! Although the Quality is not Better than OE.Meyle HD's Made in Turkey dont hold up that good & i wont touch it with a 10 FT Pole.
Cal3thousand
After reading some more stuff on other sites, I have found that TRW is getting good press. Has anyone had a problem with TRWs?Anyone use them?

erikv11
replaced at 138kHamburg-Technic, FCPgroton, I forget how muchI installed, car on ground before tightening. At 163k, after replacing inner and outer tie rods, I noticed some wander in my steering. So I checked the control arms, ball joints bad on both sides. Bushings are still fine. So are bad at 25k / 2.5 years. Bought OEM replacements waiting for spring to install.additional comments: savings with HT isn't worth the hassle. All my steering parts are new (TRW); I considered TRW arms but just went with genuine Volvo to be sure.

Garyno the HT arms aren't crap. they just aren't as high quality as Volvo. scan-tech is crap.get HT if 25k is enough, they'll probably last that long. do you drive on bad roads? If you're in Socal then maybe not. I do, all winter and part of the spring until road crews get out. I have a feeling Gary's cars drive on fair-weather FLA pavement? maybe that means his will last a little longer, maybe not. plus every set is different, there is definitely some chance involved. I was expecting 50k minimum, 25k is way too low, won't get burned twice.
