giantrobot9000
I've changed the oil filler cap seal (twice..second time with the factory version), the entire PCV system, cleaned out the PTC nipples and entire intake hose to the turbo, re-tightened all visible clamps, and done a compression test.....and I'm STILL getting the smell of burning oil when I do any hard acceleration, as well as oil sitting on top of the engine. I've also run Seafoam through the intake. The only other running issue is a hesitation under acceleration. I've checked the codes, and I have an 02 sensor code and one for the throttle position sensor. I haven't fixed or checked either yet, but I guess those could be the culprit of those issues, but not the oil problem. My next step would be to change the oil filler cap itself, as someone mentioned they warp. I don't want to go any further on maintenence, like the timing belt that is overdue, until I figure out this stupid leak! The car has lots of miles, so I don't want to spend more on it with a tired engine or major problem that is gonna cost $$$.Do the oil cap first? Anything else that I might have missed that is fairly simple?

giantrobot9000
any black smoke?? my car has similiar issue, valve stem seals are bad.No, no black smoke. Has some white smoke on occasion, but nothing major. The only place that I can see any sort of leak, other than the top of the engine,is from the timing belt cover. The front edge has some oil, which could be the cam seals??? The turbo inlet and rear of the engine are fine after cleaning the engine.
