Bazarvospeed
I got a 94 850 wagon. So I have heard that I can fit larger tires in the rear than the 850 sedans. So could someone give me a quick answer besides telling me to search......... I have searched pages & pages but I couldnt find the wagon info I'm looking for. I'm rolling on the 17" volans and running 215-45-17 for now. I would like to go wider on all 4 corners or just the rears. Whats the widest I can go while keeping the profile around 40 - 45 series? thanks!!!

Bazarvospeed
225but would you also consider spacers? 225 all the way around? or just the rears? nah no spacers yet , but I did find a decent deal on used tires. So i'm giving the wider tire idea a try before I buy a brand new set.
ErikS
225 will work, but will rub at wheel lock in the front. If you go 40 instead of 45 it will be a rough ride.

Bazarvospeed
ok awsome , thanks people . I think im gonna run 225-45-17 in the rears & 215-45-17 in the fronts. But if I can find a set of (4) 225-45-17 ....I might just do it. Otherwise I'll run smaller ones in the front since turning at full lock is common for my city driving & parking. anyone got pictures of the 225 on their 850's? Bazarvospeed
O yeah , totally forgot. but is 225 the widest we can go with-out spacers , even on the wagons? Or is the wagon information I collected not true having more room in the rear than the sedans?
Cal3thousand
So, how big of spacers would you need to run with the 225 45s to avoid full lock rub?
hgray14
Is it true that going to full wheel lock puts undue strain on your steering rack?thanksHouston

Just be very careful, the uneven tire sizes front/rear will cause more understeer, especially when the pavement is wet.Is it true that going to full wheel lock puts undue strain on your steering rack?thanksHoustonYes, which is why all car manufactures say not to keep it fully locked for more than 15 seconds. All one needs to do is back off 1/4 inch at the steering wheel to keep the pump happy.
