turbomoose
Well here's my '97 850 T5. No mods other than the sidemarkers. I'm planning on an R front bumper this year. And yes, I know the scenery is boring. But I live in the desert, so forgive me. I miss my NorCal homeland. My new (very close to original) exhaust tip that I've been searching months for.My old tip, and a tip I'm about to put in the for sale forumThe interior. The Co-Pilot, Magnus Moose.Garage Shots. hendredon
Lookin' sharp bro! Having a white car with light interior definately helps in the desert. I'm surprised you don't have darker tint on the windows though.I know you like that simple "stock" look (as do I) but have you considered painting the grill black? I'm surprised you don't have darker tint on the windows though.I know you like that simple "stock" look (as do I) but have you considered painting the grill black?I use to have tint on the car. Llumar tint. It was beautiful stuff. But I have horrible vision. So when I drive at night, I have a really hard time seeing out of tinted car windows. So I peeled the stuff off and cleaned up all the adhesive that remained behind. And I've been interested in buying a QBM's eggcrate grill with the chrome surround, putting my slash on and seeing how I like it, but I'm dunno. The original grill is fine. But it does kinda piss me off that it's not in traditional Turbo Volvo eggcrate style sometimes. on a very clean white 850! looks like it's in great shape.and props on having a German plate actually off of a Volvo...it's the little details that count Oh man, he purrs like a kitten. The past few weeks I've made an "investment". I decided against a Volvo S70 T5 I liked for sale locally, and put my tools to good use. I've put new Sachs struts on all around, New Volvo parts include: endlinks, control arms, front spring seat bearings, spring seats, front wheel bearings, front & rear brake pads & parking brake shoes all 4 rotors & brake lines, I fixed my ABS module, ALL motor mounts / torque bushings, Distributor cap, rotor & plug set, all filters: gas, air, oil, cabin, A complete Timing Belt kit (which I've yet to install) Non Volvo parts: Trunk struts, 87deg. Thermostat, ECT, Both front axles from EMPI, and a few other things I've missed I'm sure. I figured I just bought myself a new 850 for less than $2k in parts and some great quality time with my tools. I love the car, its very quiet, gets good MPG, has great power, looks awesome, and it's paid for. Beats the stuff out of any VW I've ever owned too.I ordered all the parts through eEuroparts except the struts which I got from FCP on ebay. The plates are "military sales plates". My dad is a retired Marine, he and my mom went to europe, and a few days later that beast XC90 was in my parents garage. They were on his XC90 when it was delivered. I don't know the full details of the plates, but I snagged one for my car since it said VOLVO and USA on the plate. He no longer has the XC90, a drunk hit him going about 50 into the passenger side doors. It made the sunroof pop off. Insurance totaled it out. My dad is now driving my 16 year old sisters Turbo Beetle till all the insurance crap is done and till he decides on what to buy next. Thanks for all the great compliments! They're much appreciated!
