vancouverS60
I just got a 03 S60. It has the premium audio system with the ipod adapter.Volvo has wired a 8 pin DIN from the HU-803 to the back of the car where the system is(male end). I was wanting to hook up an amp and some subs (which i have).I was wondering if anybody knew how to wire an 8 pin DIN to RCAs and a remote wire. I understand with will eliminate my ipod hookup. Unless somebody knows a way of hooking a RCA and remote wire in between a DIN female and male.Hopefully you can help me out.
Mahi
AH Ha! Yes I still have it:I was wondering if anybody knew how to wire an 8 pin DIN to RCAs and a remote wire. I understand with will eliminate my ipod hookup.Caution: don't cut into that, thats a data line. The connection you need should be 6 pin and next to the 8 pin DIN. The 8 pin is CD Changer/Nav/iPod connection. The 6 Pin is what you need a connector for as that is the audio output to the amplifier which should be under the passenger seat in the car. I got my connector end from digi-key (find another place if you only need the connector, digi-key is mad expensive with shipping).
lookforjoe
You can also buy 3515233 (or get one from a junk 700 series...) din AMP cable & cut back the sheathing, splice in RCA jacks - That's the route I took - Mahi's guide tells you all you need to know
