Kibim
The XC has been treating me well over the last 6 months that i've had it.It's just got 2 irritating problems at the moment. - Loses coolant, and I have wet carpets. (guess what the problem is here! )and - loses power, and shudders, even at idle speeds intermittantly. This is especially noticable at WOT, and is accompanied by a flashing CEL, which sometimes stays on. When it does stay on, it gives the message of 'emission system service required' There's obviosuly an associated code, but my code reader is in the R, which is miles away getting it's head polished. The '01 with it's floating coils and ETM, and wires everywhere has me a little less keen to work on it. Should I just take it into my dealer and get 'em to have a look at it rather? It's due for it'a 165k service anyway. maybe what i'm asking is 'how much is this going to cost!?'
Kibim
Right, went to a dealer today, got codes pulled and a misfire (permanent cond) in cyl 4 was picked up. The coil was pulled out, and it had a crack in the plastic housing. New coil in, and it's 50% better. I'm guessing 2 bad coils. Gonna have to wait for codes again to see which other one is bad. That, or I suspect plugs? Any ideas?
dmelviØØ7
I'd put some plugs in it, and then maybe another coil if needed. Have fun with the heater core!! BTW you should send me your rear seats from your R ;)
