Cal3thousand
So, as the question states, anyone else have this?I bought my 1994.5 850 turbo used in 2003. It came with the "sport package" and is a turbo. But when I look it up the VIN, I get a GLT. The VIN does read that it has the turbo engine and my butt dyno has no doubt. The weird thing with this is that it came with 15" cetus and 205/55VR15.Anyone else have one like this? Do you think that the used car dealer took the columbas off? Another thing, the tire recommendation sticker says 195/60/15.

Ozark Lee
Volvo has always had a very soft alloy in their factory wheels - starting back with the 740s. When they went to the low profile tires on the 16" Columbas nearly every one of them got bent and it wrecked the tires. It is my understanding that they offered the original buyers $X00.00 to buy a new set of wheels and tires.Look on your fuel filler lid and I'll bet it talks about 16" tires.I think I was a recipient of a replaced set of Columbas and 16" tires since my '94 NA would have never come with them. The good news is that the 15" tires have a much better ride. I can feel everything the road has to offer with my Columbas. My son's car with the 15" Cetus wheels has a smoother ride for sure....Lee
Oreo931
I have seen plenty of '94 turbos with Cetus rims.
cheapwagon
What did you look up your vin with? My VIN says that I have the 2.3 at a lot of places.
Cal3thousand
What did you look up your vin with? My VIN says that I have the 2.3 at a lot of places.I just googled VIN lookup and tried a few. Non are really consistent with each other. That's why I'm in here asking. After looking at my fuel door, I noticed that I should have columbas on the car . Looks like I got hosed when I bought the car.

A buddy of mine has a 94 turbo and apparently the columbias came with what volvo called a "low profile tire" and the rims would bend if you looked at themm funny.Don't feel bad man, my 96 855R came with cetus...... got some new titans coming in in the next couple days or so tho :D
Cal3thousand
So does that mean that columbas are not a worthwhile upgrade? I'm gonna eventually get some rims, I was thinking of going to the 16"s for a better ride than 17"s.Cetus' give a nice ride, but they are fugly up close, not so bad from afar tho. I think people run newer ones without much of a problem.... just get some 16'' satelites

I can't find pics of them anywhere, do you know where I can find an image?Edit: found them... not bad actually, but I want comets now that I've been looking
TM850R
Damn, my R came with Cetus when I bought it. People or dealers swap rims and sell the Volans or the Volans/Columbas/Titans were in such bad shape that it wasnt worth selling the car with them on. It happens. I moved on and bought bigger and better wheels, IMO.

TM850R
18x8 Pegs painted black by the previous owner. He did a decent enough job painting them and gave me the remaining rattle can that he used so I can always just redo them.
MyCarIsRed
This site has good VIN decode information FYI:http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/850plates.shtmlsign up with volvo and you can get the translation there. According to them i have the canadian AWD lpt engine in my 97 glt, not the US lpt engine. What that means is beyond me...
