High Flow Cats...i Have Been Had...

Cali is a circle jerk. Technically a shop cannot replace a cat unless its older than 10 years old or damaged. Lots of POS cats will throw a CEL. Since you are in PRK I would make sure you get a CARB cat or be prepared for hell. Random comes to mind.

I take it a Magnaflow is a not a CARB cat?

oh wait! My daily driver is registered in Nervada!!!! Sweet, I forgot about that being that I have been dealing with some many cars these days. So I can put whatever the hell I want because I don't have to get SMOGed where it is registered. SWEET!!!!!!!

But thanks for the advice; I will keep that in mind when working on my other Volvos that are registered in the PRK.

Punching out an operational cat lends minimal if any gains.

If the converter is clogged/melted, or has disintegrated internals then you now have restricted flow/less power and punching it out will get you back to where you were.

Read this and get back to us:
