1998C70T5 Posted April 13, 2008 Report Share Posted April 13, 2008 so i clicked the link on that magnaflow cat and as soon as i saw it fits Ford trucks i got a little scared... do i really want to have anything Ford related on my coupe? i was thinking dynaflow was the cat to get? so how do i sift through all the info to get a which cat is THE cat i need for a 3" downpipe for my 98 coupe?? its gotta work, have the O2 sensor holes and be 3" in and out. stainless... volvo friendly... all that. i dont wanna get had. Essentially the universal you noted above is the same thing except the CARB legal cats have a CARB number attached to them, so it can be shown if asked for during the visual check when getting smogged. They also cost more. The Magnaflow 42000 and 43000 series are California CARB legal cats. I have never, with any modded car I've owned, ever had the smog tech look under my car to view the cat.
