jonsayre
y is it that my friend can get a dp for his eclipse for like a lot cheaper? and honda people can get them for the same price? its not like they are any diff. a dp is a dp right?A DP for a mitsubishi generally does not contain a expensive metal core spun high flow cat, and doesnt require custom machined tight tolerance lips on their flanges.A DSM flange is a simple two bolt cut flat flange. There is only need for one bend in a DSM downpipe. Most of the time there is not even one O2 sensor bung in a DSM downpipe as the bung is on the O2 housing. To take your Mitsubishi or honda to a quality fab shop and have them build you a properly constructed SS O2 eliminator DP with three O2 bungs, a SS high flow cat and V-band flanges will cost you alot of money. Some of the Downpipes that are for sale on here are built by hand by enthusiast's who actually take pride in their work. I personally find no pride in E-bay downpipes. However I do see there price appeal!

Pops Racer
obviusly not 1 DP cost $800 dollars 20 DP cost $600 Dollars1 million cost $200 dollars the more you make more the costs of reserch and design and such can be spread over multiple units Since honda, VW and most others have such following parts are cheap unlike the volvo tunning group wich is pretty much us here and the wankers at SS thats it . oh and the guys at TB but there all broke from buying zipties and duct tape Wankers, I love that word!!. If your patient you can find a used one right here on VS. Some starving college student will cough one up for beer money soon enough, guerauntee :D
cheapwagon
+ 1. I had a full 3" turbo back (stainless steel) made at a Muffler shop for less than $600. Significant performance was felt afterwards. Screw Ipd, EST or Viva for their killer dp prices!!!! Who did yours?
family truckster
I went with EST. After all, if you buy solely based upon price, you'll lose on price. I don't have time to dick around at a custom shop, fitting, and test fitting. Sure it's cheaper, but what's your time worth? This way, it came in the mail, take the car, and get it installed.I've been the custom route with numerous other cars, and while some shops do quality work, I was having to leave the car with them, having parts test fitted, dealing with other various "one-off" part issues. With all the time I was without the car, or having to borrow the wife's car to go to work, I'll happily pay the difference.Just my opinion though.
