jamie higley
My 99 s70 awd is idling and running rough. I took it to an auto parts store and had them hook up their computer and it gave 2 codes: 1) Cylinder 4 misfire and 2) knock sensor code. I changed the plugs and no change. I am getting ready to clean the maf sensor. Anyone else have any other ideas? and does anyone know where the knock sensor is located and can it be checked? rwb
Move the cylinder # 4 coil to another spot and see if the misfire follows. The knock sensor is probably because of the misfire.
Kibim
Just had the same problem on my 01 XC, also cyl 4. New coil didn't help, so i'm suspecting plugs. Whilst you're in there, pull the plugs too.
Guest jamie higley
Just had the same problem on my 01 XC, also cyl 4. New coil didn't help, so i'm suspecting plugs. Whilst you're in there, pull the plugs too. I changed the plugs a couple of months ago. Last night I switched the coil packs and I am going to put it on the computer to check the codes. I checked the gaps on the plugs and it seemed a little big (at least .035) so I changed them and it still misses but it does run a little better. I was going to clean the maf sensor but Auto Zone gave me the wrong tool to remove it.
Pauloil
i think you should first get a new coil pack and put that on #4.coil packs are cheap.
