HPTDoh
You'll probably have to file the opening to make a double-din radio fit.

Owned
Depends on the HU.No matter what you'll have to trim the rails on the sides of the dash that that stock HU uses.
Guest ANICETO
ok,so i was planning on just taking it to circuit city to install. do you think they would be able to trim it or no? and if not how would i be able to do it?thanks
b3atboxjr
it's going to take custom work no matter what. there is no adapter or anything to fit a DD(double DIN) unit into our dashes, but any DD unit WILL fit.by custom work, we mean grinding the left and right sides of the radio cavity out a bit, and figuring out a way to keep it still, like using a backstrap or something.I have a DD unit in my 855. what i did is I disassembled the stock stereo, and screwed its side plates to the sides of my new unit, so i could still use the "pulling keys" to slide the new stereo out. good luck!going to any shop, they will charge you a lot, because it's simply a custom job every time. DIY and save money!

b3atboxjr
i literally took a flat wood file and filed down the inner walls of the stereo cavity.tips on making it clean: be a perfectionist (hey, you already are, imagine that!).seriously, it's your car, if you mess up or rush the job, it's your fault. on the other hand, if you desire that it come out clean, and you do everything possible to ensure such, it will.cd player install is EASY. seriously, just do a search on the board. every company that sells wire harnesses makes harnesses for volvos, do it.
