Obdii Readiness

Recommended Posts

Cause the stealership wants $325 :o to reflash and make it "ready" for inspection. There are no codes at all, the damn thing has been driven 4000 miles in the last three weeks and it runs like a scalded ape. 134,000 mile at 26 miles a gallon and no check engine light or hiccups of any kind. I just have a feeling their about to shove it up my ass. Are you listening Grant? and yes, I will send pics if they rape me! Bastards, bastards, bastards.

*&%$#@*&%$>&*^ , that's what they are. Unfortunately, I know of no alternative except to buy a bicycle and that ain't happening.

Thanks for letting me vent.

That will be all. :)

When this one is finished I get to do it all over again with the NA since I'm putting a front O2 sensor in tomorrow too. Drive cycle and readiness again....I know. :(

Bah humbug.

<_<

Anger management anyone ? Wouldn't be surprised if you got suspended for this post.

Back on topic: try someone else's ECU, or buy another one online, not sure how $325 is cost efficient.

just drive it and screw inspection

I havent had mine inspected in a year.

Small evap leak

Small problem with expired tag to deal with under that premise. I wish I could but I already got stopped once and the damn thing just expired in March.

I don't know about your state, but its $35 for emissions here, and if you fail, its a $20 weld for an exhaust leak.

$55<$325

Yeah, lucky you. Here it's $25 for the inspection/test and if there really is a problem then you have to spend some amount of money before they'll waiver pass it anyway. I think it's around a $600 threshold though. In this case, Volvo says they can force the readiness but they want $325 to do it.

GA has emissions ? I had no idea.

Seriously, do you want me to send me you my LPT ECU for the test ?

No, I appreciate the offer but it's a T5 and if I swapped it out I would have to drive it for two weeks again try and force it ready. In the meantime, I'm running around ready to get nailed for a bad tag again. I'm sending the wife to Volvo with it tomorrow and let the chips fall where they may. Sometimes it's jst a matter of money and not worth my time to fight it. I can;t complain too loud I suppose. I've had the car since 9/97 brand new and this is the first real repair I've had to farm out except the clutch.

I can still bitch about it though

really apprexiate the offer though. thanks.

where in fla?

Readiness for what? Ask for GA state standards and what your ET readings were, c'mon now..........

OBDII readiness, there are about 8 readings and I have five that are "not complete" according to the Clean Air Act software.

Catalyst, O2 sensor, O2 sensor heater, SAS, and Evaporative are all not ready. Two is the most they'll ignore.

I'll yell at you next trip down then. I go to Tampa regularly. Maybe we can meet up and compare cars next trip. We live in Vinings over near Paces ferry and I285 on the NW side. WHere does sis live?
