sleddriver
To relieve some angst, I tore into one of these things just to find out where the weakest link was. I was also curious to see whether I could lube the motor bushings with a carefully placed hole. Unfortunately, the answer was no.The two slim aluminum fans are riveted onto the end of the motor shaft. Thus they're not easily removable. After grinding down the rivet, and cone, and removing the plastic separator and two fans, I was looking at a very rusted bushing. I don't even think it's a bearing. It's just cheap steel. And a rather cheap looking motor. This would be a great place for some stainless steel, or at least brass or bronze. And this thing is over $300 from the dealer? Gimme a break . . . . . . . Mesoam
Looks like the air pump assembly…The water gets in them, they malfunction, looks like rust may be a main cause of the breakdowns…This is why in the write up the instructions include where to drill into the blower to allow for drainage
