Abm Black Projectors With 55w 6000k Hid Kit

I finally got my HID kit and installed it into my ABMs after work.

Then:

- when i first got the ABM projectors, I was slightly let down by the quality. And the light output with the halogens seemed inferior to my E-codes with +10W Rally bulbs from Daniel Stern.

- i was considering to ditch the abms and do my own retro fit using my stock housings.

Now:

- 6000k 55w hids. some people said it would be overkill. psh. it's damn perfect.

- i adjusted the beam pattern so that i'm not blinding oncoming traffic.

- let down: the high beams don't do jack anymore. it's like a flashlight compared to the sunlight of my hids.

- the abms with the hidz make the ol' vovo look like a 2008 super brick. (

pictures follow. I only have an iphone right now. I'll take better pictures when i'm in LA this weekend...i'll use the gf's legit camera. so "DUUUDE YOUR PICTURES SUCKKKK....DUUUDE UR CAMERA DOESN'T DO JUSTICE...." ok, i know, so get over it....

The light output looks far bluer in these pictures than in real life...they do not look a spot rice/frijole

compared with my V70 with stock lenses/reflector housings:

with useless high-beams:

slight hotspots. very over-pronounced in these photos. may tinker with the projector internals and bulb fitting to get more uniform light. but it's really not a priority for me at this point:

Again, forgive the pictures. I'll adjust the capture settings and try to get as "true" of shots as possible in the near future.

I guess my hand wasn't very steady so some of the shots are blurred...just had to share asap.

Haha, yeah I remembered as soon as I posted. I knew I had seen that car somewhere else before.

Get that R bumper yet?

I actually just picked it up from the fedex center today.

hey...i'm thinking about callin jason for a body shop who does quality work and maybe he could get me a deal? unfortunately i didn't buy the bumper from him lol. i got it from jamie with that employee discount. if you talk to jay ask him if he'd could hook me up please :D ... im looking to get my front mud flaps painted too...if that's relevant.

i'm too lazy to do the foglight hid action..i might just fudge it and buy some bulbs...heh

that step is massive , or isnt that the continuous slant (need to do cams mod)

Yeah it's the step. it's pretty pronounced. i kind of like it tho. if i really feel motivated to open the shroud and add/subtract some metal i will. not particularly a priority for me.

it looks a lot more pronounced there as well because i was parked slightly downhill and it got stretched on the garage door...

Jason installed my R bumper, so you might wanna call him up for that. And for the mud flappers painted...they have this guy who visits the dealer once or twice a week doing paint. He might charge you 50-60$ for it. But it's best to have him paint something else too - so you can get a better deal cause mixing paint - trying to get the exact match takes a while.

I'm gonna get my rear bumper, mud guards, and rear boxes (Realcar's rear bumper lip) in 2 weeks. Their paint guy is there every Thursday.

To "mod the cam," are there any specific issues to consider? From what i can conjure, the two key hardware points seem to be to

1.) use an epoxy or glue that is resilient to heat, and

2.) use metal or pvc that won't warp.

Are there any other people out there with ABMs (with hidz) who have modified the cut off? I know someone has completely flattened the output. Some username with accented characters...
