SWM
Before i put the perfos back on for the summer, the inside is so full of crap and caked on brake dust and stuff, i want to clean em good. i used some typical wheels cleaner and two differnt brushes, but there is some stuff which wont come off. is there anything that REALLY releases the caked on stuff better then another? It doesnt give off that white residue. All you need is a little bit of elbow grease my friend. =)
matt b
Simple Green, a rag and a really stiff brush usually does it for me. And a high pressure wash to finish them off.

Brake dust and grease/road debris that's likely been baked-in for years can be a real pain to get off and likely won't completely come off as it gets embedded in the finish. In all honesty, you can't really see the inside of the Perfos anyways, so I wouldn't spend too much time on them.
Jaxx
simple green. (heh)with a brush, but don't use something like a bbq brush/wire brush -- use something softer that won't tear up the finish. if you have any peices of 'stuff' that are just there and are really too big to get off with simple green and a brush, use a small knife to carefully get beneath it and pry it off -- it's worked well for me. MyCarIsRed
Mr Clean Magic eraser. test on an inside spot, but i've yet to see them harm a finish.
Mesoam
simple green, once clean hit them at a 1 to 1 cut, no need for full strength to remove a few weeks of brake dust
General Disarray
I use red hot degreaser, then some wheel brightener, leave it sit for a little bit, spray them with the power washer. Respray it with wheel brightener and use one of the wheel scrubbers. I even went as far as waxing them. And then you have 20 year old aftermarket rims looking awesome again, with the exceptions of curb rash, and the finish wearing off from being so old and abused, but the insides were amazing.Even if you don't have access to dealership cleaners, you can get it done with simple green and a lot of elbow grease like everyone else is saying. SWM
thanks gang, wow, i didnt realize simple green was this strong? ill give it a go with some old fashion elbow grease too. Surprisingly, on the perfos, i can see all the old gunk inside the wheel on the hub area mostly when looking at the front side. im not looking to eat off them, just get a bulk of old nasty stuff off. thanks for the suggestions. Do most of you just use SG for weekly brake dust cleaning as well?
