S70 Erik
I have a 15" woofer and a 3000 watt amp in my S70. My amp has been having problems and I have a strong feeling it is because my alternator is weak. I have a month old 700cca battery so my problem i know is my alternator. So i was wondering does anyone know the specs for a stock S70 alternator? Also does anyone know any good after market alternators for a S70? Get Some
another little trick might be to wire a switch in to turn your amp on and off manualy before you start the car . thats one way to kill an alternator .. trying to start an engine and boost a 3000 watt amp.. im hoping you already did that tho ... Stealth
You didn't mention when your having problems( at start-up, full volume...) Whether its 100 or 3000 watts your not pulling full current unless your at the higher volumes. When you start the car the amp should not be pulling any more then your HU is. Start with checking all your wiring, most times a bad ground strap is the culprit. Any circuit is only as good as the connections. With that much wattage the wiring should have been reviewed first.. You don't upgrade the motor before the brakes, exhaust and suspension. The power doesn't help if u can't stop!!!

"Problems" could be a number of things and the cause is more likely to be your wiring than your amp. It's impossible to diagnose without at least telling us what the problem is.
