HeavyIron
I could not find any info anywhere in the search files so I am hoping that someone can enlighten me. I split my Tritons so that I could repaint them and I am now ready for re-assembly. I have been advised from several people not to reuse the old bolts b/c since they have already been stretched the chance for them snapping before I reach the proper torque is quite high. Can these bolts be sourced direct from BBS? The dealer was no help, as well as a high-end tire shop in town. (in fact, the high-end tire shop told me that they were made of titanium (translate expensive) and could be sourced fro a german company online called titanium something but I cannot find them. Does anyone know of a U.S. source that is remotely affordable? Could I get by re-using the old bolts and still be safe? I honestly cannot see any stretched threads but being that is waht hols my wheel together I do not want to take much risk. Thanks in advance to all who can help. Che'_Moderator
Your local shop is dumb. You should call them and tell them that. Call HRP. I order the 3 piece BBS bolts from them all the time and I am pretty sure they stock or can get the 2 piece bolts. Just make sure to know the pitch when you call.
