turbormonkey
Hey Guys I have an opportunity to get an m66AWD transmission from my dads client that just wrecked his 05 V70R only 20k on the car, it was his extra show car but got hit by a drunk driver. He is going to buy it back because his son wants interior parts for his regular s60. My car is a 98 v70R, besides the tranny what other parts do I need for install. Whats a fair offer for it and is it really worth the performance gain. Also input needed on how hard it is to install. I dont even know if I will have time to do the swap but just want some input to whether it is worth it or not and a fair price to offer. What have others been paying? He knows they are hard to find he is a Volvo fanatic but is giving me first dibs. Any help is greatly appreciated

lookforjoe
2g's would be fair for the trans & hardware- very low mileage. I bought one with 30K & paid around 1600. If you can get it for less, more power to you.Using the spaceball shifter may be problematic, since the console is different, but mechanically should bolt up to the tunnel just fine. It's about a two day job. Is your R AWD? If not, talk to Ultra_runner on how to deal with the output shaft seal. Shame to waste the AWD aspect if yours is not.... The only problem area, if you can call it that, it the rear trans mount, if yours is AWD. you need to fabricate a bracket for the rear mount, if not you should be able to use the rear trans bracket on the wreck, since those use the same mount as a FWD.
