Headlamps- 2001- S40

My son has an S40- 2001. Had a front end collision. Nice body work done, but the headlamps are not original = Depo (?). When I drove the car (I really never drove it), the lamps appear dim and weird pattern. The right light throws out very far, while the driver's lamp (both low beam) casts light just in front of the vehicle (maybe 15' or so).

Should both lamps be throwing light (low beams) out far? Same pattern?

I don't know how to adjust them. I found a knob on the rear of the housing that was on a threaded plastic rod...that was turned all the way in...no more threads left.

I will call the bodyshop tomorrow, but I know that they will give me the runaround. Had they informed me that they were using aftermarket, I would have insisted on Volvo lamps...(Shouldn't I have?).

They should use Volvo headlight. The DEPO one sucks period. THe white adjustment knob should allow you to control up to down beam pattern on your headlight.

Mine headlight (low) beam pattern is set to throw in front of the car, not that far away.
