Seems like a very nice car. I'm looking at it for my son. Been a member here for awhile FWD section only.

I may be a newbie to the RWD section soon!

If anyone has a free carfax or other way to look up car histories, could you look this VIN up and post back if you find anything out of the ordinary?

Never mind...the car seemed decent enough so I bought it.

OMG, the Carfax report looks seriously bad

This car has been to hell and back several times over. Rear impact, extensive damage, salvage title; Odometer exploded, then DMV heads explode with EXCEEDS MECHANICAL LIMITS title issued; Front impact, air bags explode, moderate damage; and finally yet another crash, no immediate details.

The history was indeed bad but I still bought it...for considerably less than he was originally asking. The seller was dumbfounded....had never checked carfax and had no idea...and I do believe him...the guy before him evidently did extensive work, even replaced the engine and got the car retitled without "salvage" on it." It drove like pure joy on the way back home from where I picked it up...a 2 hour drive including over 80mph in places on the interstate. I will say that there is some damage to the car that was repaired, especially in the rear (you can see welding in the trunk under the carpet, but it's hard to tell unless you really look...I'll be fixing it up and just driving it or letting my son drive it until the wheels fall off...
