For Mother's day I had my mom's car buffed, recharged the a/c, and got a list together of what all needs to be done on it so she can start driving it more now that she has recovered a lot from her fight with breast cancer. We went out today and took some pictures of it.

My parents bought this car new in '84, it's a 245 diesel with manual transmission. Me and my 3 brothers all came home from the hospital in it. Has 125K on it. I am looking into adding a turbo, it's honestly just too slow to drive in the traffic around here. BTW Paint is original.

beautiful 245!

NA diesel sounds ridiculously slow though!

Somewhat...but with 35-45mpg it's OK.

It's a manual so about as slow as a 4cyl NA auto 240. You can mess with the injection pump to make them a little quicker, my goal is to add a turbo.

didn't even know those existed. heh.

with the addition of a turbo, what kind of tuning would be involved? no need to worry about timing...

If you lived in a more traveled neighborhood, I have no doubt that you would be forced to put a "not for sale" sign on this car. Glad to hear that your mom's doing better. It's been a while since I've been over that way. I'm moving to Denton in a few months and will be about 8 miles up the road B) .
