Alvin
This evening, I was driving my car (1999 V70 T5 (manual)) in an outdoor parking lot and saw an adjacent parking lot, which was a curb's height lower than the lot I was in. I saw a bunch of tire tracks leading from the end of the higher parking lot that I was in to the lower parking lot, so I figured I'd just follow the tire tracks and drive on down into the lower parking lot. I had forgotten that, with my Eibach coils & Koni FSD struts/shocks, I was riding somewhat lower than stock. Well, as my front two tires went over the edge of the curb down onto the lower parking lot level, I heard and felt a loud clunk, and then as I continued driving forward, I heard another clunk as the rear two wheels of my car went over the edge of the curb. I plan to get my car up on ramps this weekend to look for any damage. I'm hoping that I just landed on my subframe in the front, and maybe some parts of my rear suspension in back. I wanted to hear any opinions on things I should inspect for damage. Thanks!
Chilled man
I would just look at the spots that hit. what you did there is probally nothing compared to hitting a big pothole at highway speeds.

Check out your exhaust hangers, brake lines, fuel lines, everything that runs front to back. I wouldn't be too worried until I see the scratches on the side skirts and bumpers when I am under my car I get sidetracked by looking around and checkout out bushings, springs, shocks, sway bars, axles, etc. just to make sure everything looks good, never a bad idea to do some preventative maintenance checks. touch stuff too, sometimes things look good but are far from it
MadeInJapan
My Son's friend did that in my S70 this past week. Here's what I found (lucky I had a IPD skid plate):The Gas tank was also scratched up pretty bad and one of the straps holding it came loose. I was able to tighten it back up and attach it under the car so it's not visible. After I repaired everything I had to go and get an alignment because my car pulled to the left. ViriiGuy
Why oh why did you trust your son's friend to drive your car? I am going to HAVE to look into one of those. The streets up here are nothing like back in K-town. No smooth roads to be had here, you dodge potholes at every turn. We had one last winter that was nearly big enough to lose the front of your car in.
dmelviØØ7
Yeah I whacked my skid plate last week, still haven't looked at the damage
MadeInJapan
Why oh why did you trust your son's friend to drive your car?Well, lesson learned. I was going to pick up another car (tags from yet another, so unregistered) and I could not find another person to drive my car. It was stupid on my part...it will never happen again I'll assure you.

Thanks!I did the same thing when I first got my car (went from a lifted Bronco to a S60)... ended up loosing the cover for the fuel line (runs down the center of the undercarrige). At first there was no issue and then the fuel lines loosened and started dragging... I initially thought it was an e-brake cable at first glance and then took it in....glad I did...any longer and I would have frayed the lines... a real bummer.
