My brothers 2000 v70, non turbo.

His tranny went , 100 + miles , that one is auto 5 speed,

Car is in poland but I bought it in USA , and send it to him, he put 5k on it and tranny went.

Right now they are heaving huge problem, they try to fight it like a month all ready.

Car has new hydro valves, all tranny internals are new, wiring was checked , TCU was replaced.

Torque converter replaced.

After you reset codes car runs like new, sometimes after 25 miles , some times after 40 car tranny jumps in to limp mode.

You have to reset TCU and story repeats .

Code for tranny says something about torque converter malfunction,

I will get exact number by tomorrow.

Please help my brother , Any body may have experience with that stupid Aw50 tranny

thanks maciek

Make sure they used the right (very expensive) fluid. It has to be JWS-3309 Spec. These trannys are what is called "slip lock", and if you use the wrong fluid, it will not work properly.

Have they checked the selonoids? It is possible one of them took a poo...

That reminds me... Had the same problem when mine was rebuilt. The sensor that is used to read TRANSMISSION INPUT SHAFT speed does not like al ot of heat. When mine went it was slipping and overheated, and burned up the sensor.

If you decide to replace it, don't let the dealer tell you that the AW42-LE sensor will work. It must be the sensor for the AW55-50SN (5spd)
