eldan89
Hi everyone, Tomorrow I am going to check out a 1st gen V70r with 80k miles on it.I was wondering what are known problems to look for on first inspection of the car. Thanks,Elliot.BTW If the car is any good it will be going to Volvo for a full inspection.

s70turbo1998
Does the ETM issue apply to that year? It's a 99 so I'm assuming it would. At least ask about it, the recall or whatever has been out for so long it would be kind of weird to find a car that hasn't had it fixed. Good luck with the car! eldan89
Well I test drove the car today and it was no good Although the exterior was immaculate there was definitely something up with the engine. I have a feeling that the engine had a compression problem with one of the cylinders as it didn't pull hard at all, when i gave the car a bootfull the turbo spooled up but the car didn't pull hard at all.Oh well thats the end of this car for me.
