poot850t
Just curious....did they ever have an AWD model? I'm trying to buy some pads and rotors for my 96 R and "Rotorworks" on ebay who I'm getting my Axxis Ultimate pads from ask me what model my car is. So I tell them a 96 850R and they ask me 2WD or AWD? Was there an AWD 850 made? I know there was an AWD model for the replacement of the 850 later on. I told them there was never a AWD 850 and only FWD. This was the email I got back"We do apologize for the inconvenience but we are not trying to correct our customer, but they did make a Volvo 850 AWD from the year of 1996-1997. This auction will fit your car for the rotors only. The auction you gave us for the brake pads will not fit. Thank you. They auction was for 96-97 850 front and rearshttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...621058&rd=1All I want is my damn rotors and pads and I keep telling them what they want to hear....a 96 850R. Geesh. I've been dealing with this for a week of playing email tag.

Big Will
Correct, for 1 model year they made an 850 AWD which was a 5 speed with a 13G and B5254T motor. It was essentially the same as a 97/98 V70 AWD. However, there was no 850 AWD R, so it's a little silly of them to be asking whether your car was FWD or AWD b/c the 850R only came in a FWD.
