MrWinkey
The rotten egg smell is the catalyst working and is probably normal. Could possibly be poor fuel quality however I'm sure you have a code stored that needs to be read. As for a good tech or shop try our listing of shop reviews. http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showforum=
smokin' T5M
on an S80 sounds like bad O2 sensors, air mass or ETM. Most likely the O2 sensors though. As for a shop in NYC I don't but if you want to commute to Jersey on the Lincoln Tunnel side, HIGHBLOOM AUTO. Give Nicky a call 973-661-4747 I wish I knew someone that was as trusted closer and more convenient, but hey if you want it done right sometimes you gotta make the trip. I can say he came from a dealer and his whole life was brought up around Volvo. I believe he bleeds Volvo knowledge. Seriously he and I have worked in the same dealer for years before I moved and he left there and is a dear friend of mine, shouldn't even be called that, more like my brother.
