well i would need to know how much it is all going to cost first.

mike

let me dig up phone numbers, and you can talk to them and tell them what the issues are, and what it would be to diagnose them...like I said, not more than a couple hundred...an hour or two of labor....

my guy in Torrance was at $60 an hour last I checked, and the guy in Rancho was at $65. The guy who will drive asks for money based on miles travelled, and then time spent, and tools needed, so it gets a bit complicated, but I can talk to him and work out a deal for you. Just gotta find out exactly where you are in San Diego.

i'm assuming the car can make it up to Los Angeles carefully, and back?

A good second opinion would also help if you were to file in small claims court. You could also throw the cost in to the final tally. You could also drive to the nearest auto parts store and pick up a compression tester, which would probably run around $30 bucks. Another thought... Are you in San Diego, or LA? Doesn't most Navy bases have some sort of Auto Hobby Shop? They usually have a wide range of tools, and the person behind the counter should have a little experience.

Someone please run an IP check on mrmattson... I would bet money Mike has accessed the boards with that account. I don't really care who generated it, but Mike has used it. Generation of an account for the sole purpose of misleading people = BAN

Baker, I'm just saying that if it's something that can be fixed very easily, you can recoup alot of the money for sure. Right now, you're not getting anything, and you're out $4500. Believe me, it's worth getting diagnosed properly...if it is really screwed, then you know, and can take what you can, but if not, it can be a good thing for you man.

Someone convince him to do the diagnosis properly...compression and leak down first, and then moving from there....seriously, a couple hundred in the scheme of things is not much, especially if you hit the jackpot and find out it's something not so major.

Come on man. If I were still in CA, this would have been taken care of...you wouldn't even have to waste your time. I would handle the entire thing. Unfortunately, I'm not there!

Do it! I have good resources out there that you can get in touch with! I can even get you in touch with Brad in Chula Vista and he might be able to help. He's a good guy, and he's done alot with his car!

Best advice yet, thanks Pras and good-luck Mbaker!!!

is this one longer than the last thread yet?

I come here on my own, after reading this. Boomin did not ask me to come here to defend him or anything.

then how did you find the thread? it's pretty obvious that mike knows exactly what he did, that he is reading this, and that he isn't here defending himself because he can't. what's hilarious is that he's ripping you off now as well since you're here wasting your time and fighting for his rep.

and that liability release is almost comical. it will NOT hold up in ANY court. for starters, it covers the car post install. it does not cover the install, the quality of the motor used, or any damage done during/prior. even better, neither of them dated their signature, the document makes no statement as to the quality of the delivered product (as in the buyer is knowingly accepting the following damaged or possibly damaged parts), and no release covers fraud.

and this is beyond small claims if you factor in the costs incurred by baker as a result of the incident.

since it is pretty obvious mike knows about the thread and doesn't care to post here... maybe it's time for the thread to be closed? or... more pics of fine women?
