So, I went home last night and re-read the entire thread from start to finish. First off, people that claim that I am really Boomin under a different username are wrong. Run an IP check, I'm 40 miles south of Boomin, although I did long on through my iPhone to check the thread last night on his wifi. Obviously Boomin is reading the thread and gave me the release that Baker signed. Second, this is my fault for not reading the thread in its entirety the first time around and assuming what Baker said was fact. Nowhere can I find what Baker's complaints that the engine is crap backed up by any report or independent inspection. Everyone is complaining about how there's blow by, etc. He hasn't even gotten a compression test and he's saying the engine is bad? I say shame on this community for dragging Boomin through the dirt with no actual evidence, just hearsay from Baker. Let's have Baker take the car to an indie mechanic and have them take a look at it before passing judgement. Why Boomin hasn't replied, I don't know, that's all on him. So what do we have here currently? Oil leaks, which Baker stated he already fixed in his FS thread. As stated recently, Boomin is not a professional mechanic and did this as a cost savings to Baker. I would have cost a lot more that the cost of the engine to get it installed at a shop, not to mention taken a lot longer than Baker's original weekend deadline (which I advised was a bad idea in the first place, but nobody listens to me). However these are all moot points as Baker already over heated the car and could have damaged it after he left Boomin's house. All I know is how I saw Baker driving and I know how well the engine ran in Boomin's car.

you're compaining about 2 nuts and a plastic bracket! come on man! if you're using a pod, you don't need any of that....that's why it's called "pressure fit".....get over it!

Not using a pod but thanks for the heads up.

Pras what is you stake in all of this anyway?

if you're working on a car, and the owner demands it back, you give it back, finished or not, and you make him sign a waiver that you're not liable for anything that happens, since the owner demanded the car back.....again, not picking sides, just playing antagonist....i mean, it's the owner's car....you give it back if they demand it back whether you're finished or not.

I guess I would have handled it differently. I am sure they rent cars in LA and delivery of the car when finished properly could have been arranged.

Those who are saying the engine was too fresh to hot rod are nut's BTW. The engine had 10,000 mile break in. Do you think they require a break in period every time they are removed and replaced? It was a used engine and should have been trouble free in the new car if it was in the old. If it was correctly installed and tested, with all of the factory equipment working properly, there should have been no issues with driving it hard.

When I first brought up the point of Baker driving it hard after, it was not that it needed a break in (BTW, Boomin did a great job of breaking the engine in when it was new with oil cycling), I was refering to the fact that Baker knew some stuff was wrong with the install to begin with when he picked up the car.

You are right that we need testing done to the engine. We really need some professional evidence. I think everyone would agree.

Boomin gets what he gets though. By not posting here and defending himslef he has left his version up to what we have gotten from Baker, you and physcobeano. So the reactions of VS members are just that.

So all thats come from all these posts is that Mike (Boomin) was not responsible for the engine install due to the rush and the waiver. That all makes sense.

Now the motor itself is/was the problem. If that is truely "bad" then Boomin should at least split the cost of repairs. Its just bad business and ethics to sell someone a known bad part (motor in this case).

Again, show me proof the motor is/was bad. You people are ridiculous.
