Plan_B
Looks to me like some people jumped the gun in this thread a little bit with crucifying Boomin. Looks like the only person Baker really hurt besides Boomin was himself by giving his car a stigma which will make it near impossible to sell.meh, he's has been watching this thread for a while, he could have jumed in earlier but he choose not to....soooo....sounds to me like they are both tools in there own special way, hugs for everyone? Looks like the only person Baker really hurt besides Boomin was himself by giving his car a stigma which will make it near impossible to sell.well, you shouldn't jump to anything either....we have numbers, but from the dealer, and only one opinion. still should get one more person to do the tests.now, lets say the compression and leak down is what is stated, which from what I gather, is acceptable, and pretty good.....what do they mean, and what other issues can cause this blow-by? bad turbo? PCV? something to do with too much oil pressure?coolant leak and overheating aren't issues anymore...that was the cooling fan relay which was taken care of.....gotta get to the bottom of the oil leak issue.I didn't specify and was told they were 9:1.did you keep the spec sheet? this is where you might have had the issue with piston slap....if for some reason you got 9:1 pistons, and the boring was done for 8.5:1, or something of that nature, maybe it would cause the issue? Zaitz
The builder had the spec sheet. So no I don't have it anymore. My dad sold his to Joseph and those were supposed to be the same batch if I remember right. Wouldn't the CR come from a slightly taller piston? Che'_Moderator
Whats his displacement? If its stock or an OS1 your looking at high 7:1 compression. Aside from that those numbers are not consistent. For an engine with 10k if it has 9:1 CR you would want to see 180psi +/- 3% tops.
prasamin
i'm pretty sure it's 8.5:1 compression and OS2.....i remember mine were made at 8.5:1 CR, and OS1, and the builder (or maybe it was you Charles) telling me that at the end after taking everything into account I should be at like 8.3:1 or 8.2:1 CR?don't know if I'm thinking about this correctly....i'm pretty sure Mike got 8.5:1 CR pistons, but I could be wrong....this is where R-Sport could come in and maybe confirm or find the spec sheet...don't know if Mike gave it to Baker or not, or if Mike has that sheet.Ari, can you get that spec sheet?
