Livvakt
I hate to say this but reading stuff like this makes me that much more apprehensive about doing dealings here on VS. I don't want to go as far as to say one dickbag has ruined it for me, but it definitely has me thinking twice about purchases I've made and plan on making... :(

mrmattson
Hi everyone, I'm Boomin850's friend who was there during most of mbaker's engine install. I'm pretty unbiased about the whole situation, so here's how I look at this situation...mbaker paid for an engine, not an engine install. Period. Boomin850 was nice enough to bust his ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD on installing the engine. Even when he couldn't get it running after the first night, we drove mbaker down to Irvine so he could get a ride to San Diego from another VS member. After all is said and done, Boomin850 came through and delivered what was promised in the first place. He went above and beyond what was originally discussed. What should also be mentioned is what I witnessed shortly after mbaker picked up his car... I was in another part of town driving when I happened to see mbaker driving the stuff out of the car at WOT and full boost. I couldn't believe it and called Boomin850 right after I saw it. Who does that after 10 minutes of picking a freshly transfered engine? I know Boomin850 sells a lot of stuff on here and let's not forget about all the successful sales he's completed.I come here on my own, after reading this. Boomin did not ask me to come here to defend him or anything.

Livvakt
So lemme see if I follow:*You come to defend your good friend, but you refer to him by his username the whole time, even when we all know his real name...*You say you come here on your own but your first post is to defend him. FWIW, there's nothing wrong with defending your friend, just don't try to play it off like it's no big deal.*There are significant arguments to the idea that an engine SHOULD be driven @ WOT from the get-go. I won't get into that argument here, but do some research.

Boomin did not ask me to come here to defend him or anything.LOL.Please give me the definition of "busting his ass on installing the engine."Regardless of what Baker bought, Mike agreed to install the engine for him. Any average person would assume that it meant that the engine would be installed properly. That Baker would have a car that worked exactly like it did (and should) before, except the motor would just be a lot stronger. Now, lets look at the issues that Baker had after he received the car back.-Leaks coolant from several different locations-Leaks oil from several different locations-Motor was not even attached or properly sitting on rear motor mount-The car overheats-The tachometer, speedometer and odometer dont workSounds like the engine was properly installed Aside from all of those issues, the engine was not put together properly, but thats a whole other story.Wow, it sure was nice of Mike to let Baker stay at his house. It was nice of him to drive Baker places, and it was nice of him to buy Baker beer. It was also nice of Baker to pay Mike $5,000. That is a crap load of money, and I highly doubt that the motor would have sold seperately from the car if it werent for Baker buying it.

prasamin
and its also great to see how many people who were backing mike up in the first thread how they just dont show up here hmmm i wonder why that is? and also we all know there is no way in hell mike is going to come back on this website after Fing soo many people over he has taken the money and ran.mikeit's because i wasn't backing Mike up in the last thread. I was giving you guys Paypal's perspective, or any other outsider's perspective...after that long, anything could have happened. on your situation, I really don't know what to say. if I could help you in any way, I would. I offered the same to Brendan.as much of an ass i come off as, i am viewing things from a neutral perspective. plus, it's the internet, so who cares. i like egging you guys on. it makes this place more interesting. i especially like egging on people who start coming up with stuff out of no where hint hint Ilya aka self proclaimed famous VS'er! i don't know the entire situation in your case...i only know one side, which is yours...i don't really keep in touch with many people on this board anymore. i hope you get it sorted out, but really, wasn't Mike running the engine on his car for a pretty long time before he sold it to you?have you cracked the engine open to see what the leak is all about?worse case scenario, part it out....i'm sure there is stuff on that engine that is worth money...pistons, rods, head, and if the longblock isn't damaged at all, then someone will be willing to take the project on.i just don't know how it worked on his car, and not on yours....have you checked everything out that he installed?
